ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a reduction in petrol price and diesel rate, with the new prices taking effect from September 30, ARY News reported.
According to the notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the petrol price has been reduced by Rs1.49 per litre.
The new petrol price has been fixed at Rs387.54 per litre.
The diesel rate has been cut by Rs2.73 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs402.24 per litre.
The revised petrol price and diesel rate will take effect from September 30, according to the notification.
Petrol Relief Scheme:
Under the Petrol Relief Scheme, motorcycle and Cingchi rickshaw owners get a Rs.100 per litre discount on up to 20 litres of petrol per month.
Owners of vehicles with engines up to 800cc are eligible for discounted petrol of up to 30 litres per month.
How to register
To register for the discounted petrol, applicants should send an SMS containing the following information to 9771: citizens write REG, CNIC number, Vehicle registration number, First word of the province name and Vehicle registration date.
Once registration is completed, applicants will receive a confirmation message on their mobile phone.
How to obtain the petrol token
Before visiting a petrol station, applicants should send TOK to 9771.
They will then receive a token number by SMS. The token number should be presented at the petrol station to claim the discounted petrol.
A confirmation message will be sent after the transaction is completed.
